The cottage  Casa do Arco  is situated near to the village of  Calheta at about  300 Meters above sealevel. From the terrace you have splendid views over the green hills and the blue Atlantic .Idel for people who like walking.For example as a starting point for one of the longest Levadas in the western part :  Levada Central  Calheta. You might reach this levada path within  10 minutes walking distance from your cottage.

The house is in a blind alley, at about  300 meters from a "Miradouro" ( Viewpoint ) distance.At the miradouro you have a tipical madeiran restaurant ( Barbecue ) with a nice sunterrace with superb views over Madalena do Mar and the Atlantic.Specialities are grilled chicken and espetada ( beef on a spit).

A big and fully equiped kitchen, gas-stove with 5 cooking places, oven  fridge with deepfreeer - erything that you need to prepare a nice meal.

The house offers space for 4 persons in two bedrooms and 2 bothrooms.

Some restaurants and supermarkets and bars are in the distance of at about a  5 minutes drive.A big hipermarket is situated in Calheta and daily opened from 09:00 a.m to 09:00 p.m. Here you will find the sandy beach, the harbour, restaurants and bars.
