These typical Madeira constructions are spread out over beautifully maintained grounds and accessible only by climbing a ladder, and this unusual layout is in itself part of what makes the place so much fun. Years of hard work, however, trying to provide a modern, yet pastoral, feel have also paid off handsomely. Exotic artifacts from the Orient, Africa and Pacific many of which were collected on the owner’s travels, are in plenty supply. All in all, the Quinta das Eiras makes the starting point for a perfectly relaxing day. It has even acquired a 14.5 metre long boat that guests may use to spend some time on the sea visiting some of the islands of the archipelago. If one can’t relax here, than surely one cannot relax anywhere.
