Cottage for 2-8 Guests

In an altitude of about 350 m above sealevel you find Canhas, beyond the green mountains of Paul da Serra. Canhas is in the southwestern part of Madeira.The cottage is on the grounds of the old Manor House of  the well known family Cabral,grandfather of todays owner of Casa do Retiro.The enormous piece of land was splitted up between the family - one decided to build a Summerhouse in the same place where the old Manor House of the family once was built.The plot is near to the Monument of Santa Teresinha, donated to the church of Canhas by Mr. Cabrals grandmother.The gardens stil have at about  1200m2 – the modern and luxurous decoration of the house is in the old tradtionell style of the Manor Houses on Madeira but includes todays comfort like dishwasher and washing machine. The garden includes sunterrace with gardenfurnitures, benches and tables of basalt, antiqzue Vases and very nice barbecue decorated with the  Azulejos (portuguese   handpainted tiles).

A spacious kitchen with washing - machine,dishwasher,  Microwave + Gas-/Electricstove incl. oven.The dining  room is beside the kitchen and includes a big table and 6 chairs.

A comfortable and lovely decorated living - room with an open fire place and a nice sofa with  two armchairs and a small table.The living room is decorated with lots of beautiful details.Sat TV  is available.

The house has two doublerooms on the ground floor with separated beds,one with private bath, and two single rooms with a  comum bath. Another doubleroom with private bath available on the second floor in case of occ.with 8 persons.
