The small and comfortable hotel surrounded by the highest peaks of Madeira is  in the southeastern part near to Funchal in an altitude of  1094 m. Driving distance to  Funchal ca.20minutes. Already driving uphill from Funchal to the hotel you can smell the nature ... Eucalypto and Laureltrees ...  From the hotel you have the most fantastic panoramic views over the highest peaks ( 1600-1861 m ) of Madeira. Overviewing the village of Nun`s valley , 500 m below  in one of Madeiras volcano. A special place with special charme.

The hotel consists of  25 rooms, 17 standard - and 8 superior - rooms (same equipment but larger ). All rooms have balcony and a magnificent view over the Nuns Valley. A cosy library invites you to read  a book or just relax near the fire place.

The hotel has a  sauna and a Jacuzzi. All rooms are equiped with air condition / central heating. All the floors and furnitures are made of light wood,which make the interior friendly and cosy. Of course all rooms have Sat- TV and a safe. The private bathrooms have bath-tubs and hairdryers.

Estalagem Eira do Serrado is in 12 km distance from  Funchal –it takes you more or less 20 minutes to go there by car. We suggest a car ! Walkers will find their paradise, as lots of mountainwalks start here ( one should not be afraid of heights and  in good condition ).To the Nuns Valley  ca. 500 m below it takes about  10 minutes by car.
