Detailed description of the hiking package:
Choose from our walks your 5 favorite hikes. You can choose between:
Monday / Thursday - Into the realm of the waterfalls
Walk with us through the impressive laurel forest along an old levada to the two highlights of Rabaçal: the 25 springs and the Risco waterfall. This landscape has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage status.
Tuesday - The highest peaks
From the third highest mountain with breathtaking views over Madeira to the highest mountain of the island. The alpine mountain tour mostly runs on staircases, which were laboriously carved into the rock.
Wednesday - The Eastern Cape
Spectacular views of the coast and the neighboring islands and bizarre rock formations line the path to the eastern tip of the island. About basalt and tuff we walk here in mostly glorious sunshine. For refreshment invites a dip in the sea.
Friday - To the green cauldron
The wildly romantic Levada in the "Green Cauldron" (= Caldeirão Verde) takes us to one of the most pristine regions of the island. We experience jungle-like vegetation, impressive gorges and waterfalls.
Saturday - The fairytale forest
Along the green gorges of Rabaçal, this scenic route leads through varied nature to the fairytale forest after Fanal. Here are the oldest and most impressive laurel trees of the island.
Sunday - A Valley Two Levadas
At the Levada Moinho we walk past fertile fields and with great views into the valley of the Ponta do Sol. After a short climb we reach the wilder Levada Nova. This leads us through a waterfall and a 200m long tunnel out of the valley.
