All year round Madeira offers the ideal conditions for passionate mountain bike riders, but also for beginners and occasional cyclists. There is something for everyone on our guided bike tours. Get to know the island of Madeira by bike.

The tours are available in different levels and can be done with Cross Country, Road Bike or E-Bike Fully, so that even participants with different conditions can handle the routes. When selecting guests / tours, care is taken to ensure that nobody is over- or underchallenged.

In addition to the fun of "cycling", it is also important for us to choose routes that will bring you closer to the beauty of the island.

Guided day tours

These tours take place daily and can be ridden with MTB, Road bike or E-Bike Fully.

Level 1 (for beginners and occasional bikers, some condition required)

Tour 1 "Belle Vue"

From the bike station in Funchal, the mini bus will bring us to the Poiso Pass at 1,412m. In the first part of our trail we drive comfortably on roads and dirt trails down to about 600m in the direction of Santo da Serra. We follow the levada da Serra do Faial in the direction of Poiso, and pause on the way after about 10km - 15km.
From Poiso we drive on dirt roads and the old regional street with wonderful views of the valley and the bay of Machico, where the tour ends.

Tour 2 "Historic Trail":

From the bike station in Funchal we drive towards Câmara de Lobos with various historical and scenic highlights. In Câmara de Lobos, an idyllic fishing village and the home of scabbard fishermen, we visit the shipyard and take a break in the picturesque streets of the old town.
From Câmara de Lobos we drive along the regional road towards the port of Funchal, past the harbor road, to the old town of Santa Maria Maior. From here it goes uphill on the old regional road "Rua Conde do Carvalhal" to Cancela. At "Miradouro das Neves" we enjoy the view of the imposing bay of Funchal and then continue towards Garajau.
At the Cristo Rei statue of Garajau, similar to that in Rio de Janeiro, we can take the cable car down to the beach and take a break there. The last stage is then down old regional roads back to Funchal.

Level 2 (For trained bikers with good physical condition and experience)

Tour 3 "Up and down"

From our bike station in Funchal, we take a minibus transfer up to the second highest peak on the island: to Pico do Arieiro at 1,810m. A gigantic view of the entire massif of the island awaits us, before it goes downhill via singletrack to the Ecological Park above Funchal.
We stop at the former shepherd's shelter and today's restaurant "Abrigo do Pastor", before we reach the Sítio dos Quatro Estradas in the direction of Santo da Serra on roads and dirt trails down to about 600 m. We follow the Levada da Serra do Faial in the direction of Camacha and then the way to Vale Paraiso, the Paradise Valley. Back to Funchal it goes along the old regional road.

Tour 4 "In the footsteps of Madeira's discoverers"

From the bike station in Funchal, we take a minibus transfer to Machico, the oldest city in Madeira. Here, the former explorers of the island first landed. In Fajã dos Rolos we follow a dirt trail and get to Boca do Risco with a fantastic view of the rugged north coast and the Eastern Cape.
Through singletracks we reach via Funduras to Portela, the most beautiful panoramic view of Madeira with fantastic views of the eagle rock and Porto da Cruz. From Portela, about 670m, it goes up to the Levada da Serra and along the Levada to Camacha and to Choupana. From here we follow the regional road towards Funchal.
