Ponta Delgada is situated directly at the northcoast. With its public nature swimmingpool , some bars and restaurants it is a lovely place to go.One of the biggest regional religious festivities is on the 1st Sunday of September near to the church.The church itself has some lovely interior details: some walls of the interior were painted with scenes from the Holy Bible. Nearby you find Lombo do Urzal, one of the most beautiful parts for walking.

From Ribeira Brava you can take the Encumeada - Pass or go through the tunnel recently built to leave the southcoast and go to the northcoast.One of the most interesting atractions are the caves of Sao Vicente, once in there you will get to know all about the origin of Madeira as a vulcanic island.In former times and still today you find lots of wineyards, old Manor Houses reminds on former times, when the Madeira Wine Export was one of the most famous exports of the island.The village itself is small and charming. Another atraction is the nice and romantic road along the coast leading to Porto Moniz or to Ponta Delgada.
